Lion's Club Easter Egg Hunt

Imagine hundreds of children standing in the chilly spring air overlooking the playground. Some years it is covered with snow while other years the grass is already getting green. A six foot Easter bunny and his little helpers have sprinkled plastic Easter eggs all over the playground. The count down begins... four... three... two... one... go! Simultaneously hundreds of children begin to scream with glee at the prospect of wiggling away from mom and dad long enough to grab a few precious Easter eggs. After filling their baskets the children head into the building to turn in their eggs for a bag of candy and a special Easter toy or gift. Hot apple cider, chocolate milk and cookies... lots of cookies await in the Commons area. What a day!

This wonderful community event is sponsored by the Chocolay Lions Club and has been going on for many years. The event is held at Silver Creek Church each year (219 Silver Creek Road in Harvey). Silver Creek Church is proud to support this event. We really appreciate the investment love and energy by Pete La Rue and the Chocolay Lions Club in order to make this event a reality. They are truly good neighbors!
